No child wants to be labeled as a big mouth or tattletale. But should they tell? When? Tell who? What if they promised not to tell? Doubts about telling can be troubling

for young children. Doubts intensified by peer pressure can be tragic. It's time to help kids understand when it's important to tell. In this ethnically diverse video

program young children will have an opportunity to see examples of when it's important to tell created from their social, family and school environments. In each

vignette the children will see the importance of being personally responsible for themselves and the welfare of others. A wonderful springboard for teaching

children the importance of sharing what they see, hear, or know.

Many children think that things should just 'go their way.' When they don't, they often times become angry or frustrated. Our young narrator in each of the 3

vignettes in this ethnically diverse video reinforces skills for youngsters to call upon when they must deal with the disappointment of things not going their way.

Windows is part video and part group discussion and is designed to be highly interactive. The video illustrates the concepts, while the exercises and activities found

in the Participant's Guide and the group discussion allow for personal sharing that will reinforce these concepts. The group discussion format of Windows makes it

ideal for staff development, loss education for students, volunteer training in hospitals or hospices, or for any other group that helps others. Windows is designed

for six 1-hour sessions and is flexible, so you can adapt it to your particular situation. Part I will help participants explore their own ways of coping with loss, and

Part II will prepare participants to help others. The Leader's Guide takes you step by step through the course and offers valuable insights into organizing a group.
