This course is designed for fifth grade Extended Studies students. It is an enrichment and extension course in reading, writing, and language. Students will investigate Base 10, Base 2, Base 6, and touch on Base 16. This course is designed as an informational tool for introducing individuals to online learning and its use with gifted and talented students. This course is designed to explore different teaching strategies and online tools that support these strategies. It is also designed to expose participants to online communication and collaboration. Participants will be exposed to a host of digital tools for planning, communicating, publishing, and creating. They will also be given the opportunity to explore the world of online discussion groups and online journaling. Participants will be given the opportunity to research and make connections with other educators around the world who are integrating technology and the Internet into their classrooms.
